Discover the world’s largest salt flat in a unforgettable Uyuni Salt Flats day tour. The Salar de Uyuni is one of the most impressive and unforgettable destinations in Bolivia and the world. Considered the largest salt desert on the planet, it is located in southwestern Bolivia, between the departments of Potosí and Oruro, and forms part of the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve.

- Dry Season (April to October): the salt flats transform into an immense white sea, perfect for perspective photography and panoramic views.
- Rainy Season (November to March): the famous “mirror effect” appears, where the sky reflects on the surface of the salt flats, creating spectacular landscapes.

ITINERARY:
To begin this Uyuni Salt Flats day tour, we take a bus from the city of La Paz the night before the tour starts, departing from the La Paz Bus Terminal.

- Departure from La Paz to Uyuni: 9:00 PM (approximately from the bus terminal: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ux8v9ZKUAJpQnSR16
Prior logistical coordination with us is required. - Approximate arrival in Uyuni: 6:00 a.m. (the following day. Our staff will pick you up from the bus and take you to our office or the tour starting point. You will have free time until the tour begins.)
- Pick-Up and Start of the Tour – 10:30 AM
We will begin the adventure by boarding a specially equipped 4×4 tourist vehicle to explore the Uyuni Salt Flats.
- Train Cemetery
The first stop will be the famous Train Cemetery, a historic site where old locomotives from Bolivia’s mining era remain.
Perfect for photography and learning about part of the country’s railway history.
- Colchani – Artisan Community
We will continue to Colchani, a small village dedicated to salt processing and handicraft production, where you will:
- Shop for souvenirs and local handicrafts
- Discover products made from salt
- Entering the Uyuni Salt Flats
Once inside the salt flats, we will visit several tourist attractions:
- Salt Eyes
- Dakar Monument
- Flags Square
- Salt Museum
The immense white landscape allows for creative photography with unique optical effects and perspectives.
- Lunch in the Middle of the Salt Flats
We will enjoy a tourist lunch in the middle of the Uyuni Salt Flats, surrounded by one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world.
SEASONAL ACTIVITIES
- Rainy Season (November to March)
During this season, the salt flats display the famous mirror effect.

During these months, we visit the famous Incahuasi Island.

- Photography Session and Sunset
In the afternoon, we will enjoy a photography session taking advantage of the vastness of the salt flats, followed by snacks and one of the best sunsets in Bolivia.
The sky, colors, and natural reflections create a unique and unforgettable spectacle.
- Return to Uyuni – 7:30 PM
We will finish the tour by returning to the city of Uyuni to board the return bus to La Paz.
