Death Road in La Paz – Bolivia.  Is amazing biking ride (Yungas Road)  dramatic and scenic. it is all downhill and it  can be done in a fullday  with the safety and security.

For a fullday trip of Death Road, We start at an altitude of 4700 m.a.s.l, close to the nearby peaks, such as Huayna Potosi and other nearby mountains in the Cordillera Central.

You will visit an informative session about safety and practice with your bike to find all the mechanical aspects of your trip.

as well as be ready to travel the 64 km with our expert  guides.
First we will descend 31 km on a road surrounded by low clouds, through the amazing views, out of the corner of our eyes there are small villages and the nearby grazing flames. With stops to take pictures of the high cliffs, outcrops of rocks and lush green vegetation.

The so-called “Camino de la Muerte” was built for the prisoners in the 1930s, and many of the cyclists travel this route every day that has been named as the most dangerous road for organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank.

Along this route is subtropical, crossing along beautiful waterfalls to enjoy an incredible meal and rest in the pool.

OVER VIEW

  • Incredible scenic variety and a spectacular descent of more than 3,600m/11,800 feet, from snow-covered high-altitude plains and mountain ranges down to the steaming Amazonian Jungle. Part of the ride is on the dramatic and scenic “World s Most Dangerous Road,” dubbed such by the Inter-American Development Bank in 1995, and locally known as “The Death Road” or “Camino de la muerte!”.
  • 64kms (40 miles) of downhill riding with only a few small uphills and a couple of flat bits!

ITINERARY:

We begin the ride at wind-swept La Cumbre (4,700m/15,400 feet) where you ll see fantastic views of a number of snow-covered peaks, including Huayna Potosí (6,088m/19,973 feet). From here we descend rapidly down a twisting asphalted road among mountain peaks, grazing llamas and alpacas, tiny villages and a drug check-post

07: 00 am. Departure from the agreed meeting point or from the office.  (fix the meeting point, when you confirm the tour).
09: 00am. Arrival to the Summit (4,700 masl.) Have a hot drink. The guide gives instructions on the risks and delivers the bicycle and equipment for the descent.

PART ONE

09: 30am. Start downhill on asphalt 22 km. (approx. 1 hour) Getting to Unduavi.
10: 30am. There is an 8 km ascent in the transport  from Unduavi until the begining of the Death Road.

PART TWO

11: 00am. Start downhill on "Road of Death". gravel road, rocky and stony.
12: 30pm. We arrive at San Juan (waterfalls), for a snack.
13: 30pm. Arrival to Cerro Rojo with 20 minutes of descent until the end of the tour in Yolosa (1200 masl.), And go by bicycle to our restaurant for lunch, use of the pool.
19:00 or 20:30 pm approximately araving to La Paz City.
