From here, the path becomes steeper as we begin the ascent of Pico Austria (5,350 m). The climb takes roughly three hours, rewarding us at the summit with an unforgettable panorama: Mount Condoriri, shaped like a condor with wings outstretched, the shimmering waters of Lake Titicaca, the west face of Huayna Potosí, and countless peaks of the Cordillera Real.

Our descent back to Chiar Khota takes about one hour, where we will settle in and spend the night beside the lake.
