The Takesi Inca Trail at La Paz - Bolivia, is known as one of the most impressively engineered Inca trails. Takesi Inca Trail is very important link between the Andean highlands and the Yungas subtropics remains one of the best paved pre-Colombian paths. The trek is mostly downhill and is one of the shorter Inca trails. We offer this trek as both a more strenuous 2 day trek or as a more leisurely 3 day trek.

Day 1: La Paz to San Francisco Mine to Estancia Takesi Day 2:  Estancia Takesi to Kacapi Day 3: Kacapi to Chojlla Mine to La Paz

Itinerary

  • La Paz to San Francisco Mine to Estancia Takesi

    We will pick you up at your hotel in La Paz and proceed by private transport to the San Francisco Mine, where we will begin our trek. Our trek will begin with an uphill section until we reach the 4600 meter pass, an area with impressive Inca paving. From the pass, we will descend to Estancia Takesi, an ancient village home to llama and alpaca herders. We will advance a bit beyond the village to our campsite, where we will have dinner and spend the night in tents. Our total trekking time for the day will be around 4 hours.

  • Estancia Takesi to Kacapi

    Our trek today to the small population of Kacapi will take around 5 hours. As we descend throughout the day often alongside crystal clear rivers, we will reach warmer climes and enjoy denser tropical vegetation alongside the trail. We will have dinner and camp at Kacapi.

  • Kacapi to Chojlla Mine to La Paz

    The final leg of our trek to the Chojlla Mine will take around 3 hours. We will end the trek in a warm and humid tropical environment. After lunch, our transport will take us back to La Paz.

  • 2 liters of water for the first day of the trek

  • 90 Dollars Personal porter
- If you take the porter will carry your personal belongings up to a weight limit of 19 kilos. One porter can be shared by 2 or 3 customers. If you wish to book any rental gear, please let us know when you book the tour.

CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT:

The mountaineering and hiking tours that we offer are highly risky, the customers decides to take the tour with their own experience and travel under our conditions. 1.-  Confirmation and payment:    
  • After confirming the tour with payment. The confirmation is  valid for the date and time indicated on it.
  • The customer is responsible for the tour and must prevent factors that can make themselves sick or injure that can cause to loss the trip
2.-  Tour cancellations :
  •        12 days  before trip day  30% penalty from total price.
  •        7 days  before trip day  45% penalty from total price,
  •        a day  before trip day    60% penalty from total price,
  •        on  departure  day    100% penalty from total price,
3.-  Postponements:
  •       7 days or more  before the tour day  30% penalty from total price,
  •        A day  before tour day  40% penalty from total price,
  •     on  departure  day    100% penalty from total price
4.- Insurance:
  •                 The customer will make the tour on his/her own and full responsibility.
  •                 The price does not include travel insurance against accident, life and medical expenses of any kind.
5.- Climatological Factors: The customer is responsible for choosing his/her travel date.  If, because of bad weather, the tour can not be completed. there is not refund. 6.- Equipment losses or damages during the tour:
  •  The customer is responsible for taking care of all the equipment that we provide.
  • – In case of damages or losses of any of the gear, the customer must pay for it at the end of the tour.
