Departure from La Paz towards the city of Choquecota 3,900 m. by a private transportation that will take around 2h 30 min. approximately from there, we will start our hike, passing by the San Francisco Mine and a stunning landscape of the Mururata mountain. Then, we will begin going up until we reach the Apacheta at 4,700 m., where the weather starts to get colder. Then, we go down through the mountainous landscape until we arrive at Takesi village, we will see the mainly home to llama and alpaca herders. After, we continue our hike on a path with abundant vegetation until we arrive at Camp Kacapi, where we will spend the night in this place. The hiking time will be around 7 – 8 hours (17 km).
We will get up early and have breakfast before continuing our hike. We will go down and as we do so, the valleys become more tropical and lusher, we will cross rivers and have beautiful views in the lower valleys. It will take us half day to reach the mining town of Chojlla, where we end our hike and take our delicious lunch and transportation back to La Paz city. The hiking time will be around 3 – 4 hours (7 km).
