Charquini Summit (5390m. / 17,683 ft.). Fullday trip done by North face of the Mt. Charquini, crosing the aqueducts, Glaciar and finaly summit.

Charquini North face is one of the ideal places for hiking and glacier ascents, especially for people who want to practice mountaineering techniques, reaching  5390m. to enjoy impressive views.

 As its high altitude,  is recomended to do with proper gear. the weather can change and can down quikly  below 0 degrees celsius.

If you would like to do with blue sky or clear recomended to do from may to october because is dry season in Bolivia. From november to april the mountain can be cloudy and snowing.

ITINERARY:

    La Paz (3600m. / 11,811ft.) - Plataforma Songo (4700m. / 15,419ft.) - Charquini Summit (5390m. / 17,683 ft.). - La Paz (3600m./ 11,811)

    6:45 am Peak up from the hotel (from the city center).

    10:00am (FIRST PART)

    Arrival at Huayna Potosíbase camp (Zongo dam). The guide will give certain
    instructions and precautions for walking. The equipment will also be provided and after
    that we begin the aqueducts walking carefully, enjoying the incredible landscapes for
    45 minutes. Approx.

    10:45am (SECOND PART)
    Arrival at the second part of the walk where the ascent begins, it will take 3 hours
    approximately until reaching the top of Charquini 5400m. On this route it will be
    approximately 30 minutes over dirt road and loose rocks, 25 to 35 minutes to cross the
    glacier with the respective safety equipment (crampons, harness, ice axe, helmet) and
    the last part, after crossing the glacier is about 35 to 40 minutes to reach the top of
    Charquini , rocky area. Finally you enjoy lunch and take photographs.

    14:00pm (THIRD PART)
    Reaching the Charquini top 5400m. Incredible panoramas towards the most
    outstanding snow-capped mountains of La Paz (Illimani, Sirqui Qullu, Chacaltaya,
    Mururata, Huayna Potosi, Zongo Valley and the Choro Valley).
    15:00pm Descent for 3 hours to the place where the car is located.
    18:00pm Return to the La Paz city.
    19:30pm Arrival to the Office.
